Julia

Poem by Mira Horn

Oh Grandma!

I've seen her when I can't fall asleep

I've heard the wind outside the window

I know her face, she is unique

Her silhouette is pink and plain

What company she keeps across the table

I can't quite tell their names

Her shoulders shrug, her thin lips parted

the Violets printed on the cloth

the conversation barely started

I swear I've known her some other place

when life was smooth

and memories were shallow based

She's every age in between young and old

She's sitting but she can't sit still

Oh, Grandma, it's her life you mold.
