Last week was a time of renewal. It was good to get away from politics and become immersed in our state's beauty. Traveling to Malheur Wildlife Refuge in southeastern Oregon was a chance to focus on the reason I live here and remember why it is important to care for the environment. I am sure that this trip will inspire future paintings.

Fields of spring wildfowers covered the ground bringing the desert to life.
